hi!! im juno, i tried to post this on my spacehey account and it just... wouldnt work!

i like to code and such.. im not the best at it, but honestly i have enough knowledge that i can get around a bit. in this blog im going to cover some text tips & whatnot that i know!

now, to those that understand coding, this may seem like common knowledge. to others that dont code, this prob isnt common knowledge! i didnt know half of this existed when i first started spacehey.. which was my main introduction to coding...

i wrote this all with posting it on spacehey in mind, so if the wording seems odd for being on my website, please ignore it!! uwagh..

none of this will work if you don't close your code! i might not be using the correct terminology btw but my point still stands - CLOSE YOUR CODE!

let me give you an example using my own website & its code!
here i don't close off the div class tab. this causes my website to look like this

you might say it doesn't look that bad, but compared to how it normally looks this is a MESS!!

to fix this, i write the code like this

it's pretty simple once you do it like three times..

marks, highlights, whatever you call them, we all use them!! sometimes you might want to use these to emphasize your words. 

you'd expect the tag to be something like <highlight>, but it's actually <mark>! 

to use this, your text should look something like this, with the text replaced with your own. <mark>your text here</mark>

now, lets say you want to change the style of your mark. i know i said i wouldnt go into css, but this is something i wanted to share. put this in your .css file! if you don't do that but don't know how to add it to your code, let me know cuz i lowkey don't remember rn at the time of writing... maybe you want pink text on a green mark! i'll share the css code for that as well. if you're using this on your spacehey profile, you'll need to use the <style> tags. i'll share it using said tags

this is how it'll look! you can replace the colour names with hex codes if you wanted to as well. If you're on neocities using this exact code, it'll look different as most web building sites may have a different idea of what green or pink is. a little silly, but whatever!

what are horizontal rules? wjhy are they...hmm

horizontal rules are a horizontal line. im using them to seperate the sections in this blog, actually!

on my spacehey profile, they look like this.

to insert one, you ONLY need to type <hr /> where you want the rule. pretty simple!

headings are pretty simple, and there are three styles total! there's heading one, heading two, and heading three.

examples of the three compared to regular text:

to do heading one:

you type </ br> for a line break. it's different from a paragraph cuz it doesn't add a space in between the lines of the text

for getting image links, i highly suggest uploading them to file garden. i use it all the time! an alternative to that is catbox but my friend lost all his images when the website went down!!!
